STATEMENT OF FAITH

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. (Genesis 1:126-273:22Matthew 28:191 Peter 1:22 Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus Christ is the only Son of God. He came into this world as God in human flesh, lived a sinless life, and died on a cross as the ultimate, perfect sacrifice to bear the sins of the whole world. After three days buried in a tomb, He arose victoriously from the grave to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended back to heaven to prepare a heavenly home for all who believe in His name. One day, He will return in power and glory for the purpose of judgment on those who reject Him, and establish a new heaven and a new earth with those who’ve trusted in Him for salvation. (Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-514:10-30Acts 1:9-11Romans 1:3-41 Corinthians 15:1-8Hebrews 4:14-15)

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He dwells in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with the power for daily living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing was is right. The Holy Spirit is the seal of man’s redemption. (John 14:16-17, 16:7-13Acts 1:81 Corinthians 2:123:16Galatians 5:25Ephesians 1:13-14)

Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. This attitude separates man from God. (Genesis 1:27Psalm 8:3-6Isaiah 53:659:1-2Romans 3:236:23)

The Bible is God’s Word to all men. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian belief and daily living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error, it is authority without question. (Proverbs 30:5Psalm 119:1052 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:122 Peter 1:20-21)

Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or earn his salvation by good works. Salvation is only available through faith in Jesus Christ’s sacrifice as the payment for sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins when one accepts the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Those accepting Jesus need to repent of their sins, confess their faith, be baptized (immersion) into Him and be devoted to living for Him. (Matthew 7:13-14, 21-23; John 1:123:1-8, 1614:6Romans 5:1-26:23Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 John 5:11-13Revelation 2:1020:15)

The Church is the Bride of Christ and an extension of Christ’s ministry on earth. The church is to proclaim the message of salvation to the lost, teach and equip the saints, and minister to those who are hurting. (Acts 2:42-47, 4:32-35; Romans 12:1-8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31; Ephesians 4:1-16; 1 Peter 2:9-10)

Communion is for believers as a reminder of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Jesus commanded us to partake of the bread (His broken body) and the cup (His shed blood) to remember the heavy price He paid for our sins. At FCC, we offer communion to Christians each Sunday according to I Corinthians 11:23-32.

The return of Christ is imminent. The prophecies have all been fulfilled to usher in Jesus Christ’s second coming. The saints are to rejoice and wait expectantly, because His return will lead to perfect fellowship with God once again. A heavenly reward awaits those who are faithful to Christ. (Matthew 241 Thessalonians 4:13-182 Peter 3Revelation)
